‘Obstacles to 21st Century Migration’ was hand drawn and arranged by Nick in 2024. As his daughter, I view it as a classic ‘Nick Hooper Design’ print in its geometric pattern and tribal feel. Look closely and see how the natural path is always blocked by a line, border or fence. Be it humans and our politics, or be it mammals, birds, amphibians or reptiles, there are obstacles to natural movement faced by all of us on this earth we share. This design could be a reflection of the times and to remind us to break free of these obstacles where we can. Hop the fence, create a wildlife corridor, whatever it may be, stand up for for your freedom of movement and those who don’t have a voice.
